Got the lifters taken out of my old s10 engine yesterday, and got it all wrapped and bundled up. Should be headed to Joel’s shop this week to get the block cleaned up, painted, new cam, new intake, reinstall the heads, then start tearing down the s10 this weekend.
Spend Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday helping Joel with his Z71. The crank in his 383 broke the weekend before, causing him to do an “emergency” motor swap. He decided to go the right way and put in an LS 5.3. Started pulled the 383 Thursday, put the 5.3 in on Friday. Spent Saturday...
Of course, didn’t finish everything I wanted to get done, but oh well. Truck seems good, checked the gear oil, transfer case fluid, everything looks good. Lowered the front from 40.5″ to 38.75″, looks better and is lower than the rear now, haha.
Weekend is going to be busy: Changing knock sensors in the Trans Am, fixing passenger’s side exhaust, cleaning out car. Part 2: Replacing rear seal in the silverado transfer case, fixing the VSS wire connection now that I know it works, checking gear oil level, lowering the front down about 1.5″, putting interior back t…together. Blah!
Hooray! Drove my truck about 100 miles this weekend. Have to address a couple minor issues this week, but should be back to driving it full time next week. Sweet!
