Of course, didn’t finish everything I wanted to get done, but oh well. Truck seems good, checked the gear oil, transfer case fluid, everything looks good. Lowered the front from 40.5″ to 38.75″, looks better and is lower than the rear now, haha.

Weekend is going to be busy: Changing knock sensors in the Trans Am, fixing passenger’s side exhaust, cleaning out car. Part 2: Replacing rear seal in the silverado transfer case, fixing the VSS wire connection now that I know it works, checking gear oil level, lowering the front down about 1.5″, putting interior back t…together. Blah!
Hooray! Drove my truck about 100 miles this weekend. Have to address a couple minor issues this week, but should be back to driving it full time next week. Sweet!
Wire brush didn’t help, even though I took a pile of rust from the yoke. Cleaned it up, hammered it on, and the splines are still dragging/digging into the yoke. I will probably end up taking the yoke and the driveshaft to a shop, and saying “Make it fit!”. Should...
Tonight didnt go very well, fought with the yoke pretty much all night. Tried switching to the yoke that came with the transfer case, but couldnt get the exact u-joint that I needed. Will try cleaning up the original yoke tomorrow to see if I can get it to slide in further.
